Hello!
I’m Anne, a licensed social worker and therapist specializing in postpartum/perinatal mental health. Whether you are contemplating parenthood, hoping to conceive, just found out you are expecting, or postpartum and already brought the baby home, I’m here to support your experience.
Therapy is a personal investment and should be both meaningful and effective. We will explore the root causes of your concerns and collaborate to find lasting solutions. I employ current, research-based methods to ensure that our work together is backed by science. Our time together should feel like a resource for personal growth.
My Approach
If you care about the jargon, I’ll tell you that my practice is person centered, trauma informed, and strengths based. I draw from several research-based modalities depending on the individual needs of each client, including somatic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT). I’m also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). What that really means is, together we’ll take the time necessary to process your needs, explore new ways to cope, and move you consciously towards your mental health goals. When I say I am direct & collaborative as a therapist I mean it. We will have real conversations during sessions. Last but definitely not least: I respect the diverse backgrounds and identities of my clients. I recognize the impact of culture, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and other factors on a person's mental health. I also actively work to acknowledge and better understand how those same factors impact my practice as a therapist.
