New, expecting, and busy parents. There’s a lot going on in the family building years. The kids are just part of it. My clients often fit into one or more of the categories below. I work with my clients through a trauma-informed lens using research-based interventions.

Focus Areas

Pregnancy & Postpartum Anxiety

Anxiety may include extreme worries and fears, often over the health and safety of the baby. Some people have panic attacks and might feel shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, a feeling of losing control, and numbness and tingling.
Dads

Dads often report feeling isolated, lonely, they miss feeling connected to their partner, they often feel burdened or trapped. One in ten dads gets postpartum depression, and up to 18% develop a clinically significant anxiety disorder, OCD, or post-traumatic stress disorder at some point during the pregnancy or the first year postpartum. Birth Trauma

Unplanned C/sections, health issues, NICU stays, birth not going as planned…birth trauma comes in many different forms. Particularly difficult trauma can lead to Postpartum Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and symptoms may include flashbacks of the trauma with feelings of anxiety and the need to avoid things related to that event.
Pregnancy Loss Or Infertility

The loss of a pregnancy, infant, or child can bring feelings of pain, grief, and isolation.
The grueling process of trying to conceive takes it’s toll when even hope can hurt.
Pregnancy & Postpartum Depression

Depression may include feelings of anger, sadness, irritability, guilt, lack of interest in the baby, changes in eating and sleeping habits, trouble concentrating, thoughts of hopelessness and sometimes even thoughts of harming the baby or oneself.
Cycle Breaking Parenting

Your parents taught you what NOT to do. You want to do better than they did, but you wonder if you're just too wounded to do that. Maybe you KNOW better, you just can't seem to DO better. You want to figure this sh*t out before it's too late for your own kids. It's time, you are committed to doing the work, calming the chaos within yourself, and within your home. Together we will work to break the cycle, allowing you to feel confident in your parenting and connected to your kids.
